Yeghishe Charents House-Museum
Yeghishe Charents House-Museum was founded in 1964 in an apartment, where the famous Armenian poet of the 20th century lived in 1935-1937. It was opened in January, 1975.
Today, the museum covers an area of 575 square meters, the memorial part has been restored, and the other three floors occupy the main exhibition. The house-museum is a scientific center for the study of the poet’s life, work, national and social activities.
The museum preserves relics from the poet, materials related to Charents as human being, citizen, great poet, translator, publisher, the total number of which reaches 17 thousand. The main fund includes more than 8000 museum specimens. One of the most cherished parts of the museum is the Eastern and European monument
with a delicate, tasteful combination of arts, where the poet’s personal library is of great value.
In addition to its main mission, the museum organizes exhibitions, literary and musical evenings, lectures, concerts, meetings, presentations, poetry days, etc.
